چکیده

Abstract The basic leucine zipper (bZIP) transcription factor family, one of the largest and most diverse families in eukaryotes, is associated with development stress responses many eukaryotic organisms. However, their biological functions oomycete plant pathogens are unclear. A genome-wide analysis bZIP factors Phytophthora sojae showed that PsBZP32, which has a unique bZIP-PAS domain structure, exhibited high level during early stages P. infection. We silenced PsBZP32 found transformants defective cyst germination pathogenicity. could not eliminate host-derived reactive oxygen species infection were more sensitive to oxidative stress. Their response was independent level; however, subcellular localization phosphorylation affected by H 2 O These results indicate involved regulation germination, response,

PsVPS1, a Dynamin-Related Protein, Is Involved in Cyst Germination and Soybean Infection of Phytophthora sojae

Plant pathogens secrete effector proteins to suppress plant immunity. However, the mechanism by which oomycete pathogens deliver effector proteins during plant infection remains unknown. In this report, we characterized a Phytophthora sojae vps1 gene. This gene encodes a homolog of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae vacuolar protein sorting gene vps1 that mediates budding of clathrin-coated vesicles ...

The bZip transcription factor Cap1p is involved in multidrug resistance and oxidative stress response in Candida albicans.

Candida albicans is an opportunistic pathogenic yeast which frequently develops resistance to the antifungal agent fluconazole (FCZ) in patients undergoing long-term therapy. FCZ-resistant strains often display a reduced intracellular FCZ accumulation which correlates with the overexpression of the ATP-binding cassette transporters CDR1 and CDR2 or the major facilitator (MF) MDR1. We have recen...

Monitoring Response of a Few bZip Transcription Factors in Response to Osmotic Stress in Sunflower

Background: Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) is one of the important vegetable oil supplies in the world and in Iran, as well. It is classified as a drought semi-tolerant crop; however, its yield is adversely affected by drought stress. Understanding the initial events in sensing stress and the related physiologic and biochemical events thereafter, is crucial in designing droug...

The bZIP Transcription Factor MoAP1 Mediates the Oxidative Stress Response and Is Critical for Pathogenicity of the Rice Blast Fungus Magnaporthe oryzae

Saccharomyces cerevisiae Yap1 protein is an AP1-like transcription factor involved in the regulation of the oxidative stress response. An ortholog of Yap1, MoAP1, was recently identified from the rice blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae genome. We found that MoAP1 is highly expressed in conidia and during invasive hyphal growth. The Moap1 mutant was sensitive to H₂O₂, similar to S. cerevisiae yap1 ...

The bZIP transcription factor PfZipA regulates secondary metabolism and oxidative stress response in the plant endophytic fungus Pestalotiopsis fici.

The bZIP transcription factors are conserved in all eukaryotes and play critical roles in organismal responses to environmental challenges. In filamentous fungi, several lines of evidence indicate that secondary metabolism (SM) is associated with oxidative stress mediated by bZIP proteins. Here we uncover a connection with a bZIP protein and oxidative stress induction of SM in the plant endophy...
